Yes. Without a white underbase, inks appear translucent — colors shift in appearance depending on the drink inside. A green ink over orange juice looks brownish; the same ink over clear water appears green. This technique works beautifully for minimalist or translucent-aesthetic designs. With a white underbase, colors are fully opaque and consistent regardless of drink color. We recommend specifying your preference when submitting artwork — we're happy to produce a proof showing both options.

Yes. PET (polyethylene terephthalate) does not use bisphenol-A (BPA) in its chemistry. PET is inherently BPA-free — no special treatment or certification is needed. All HT Printers PET cups are BPA-free and FDA compliant for cold food and beverage contact.

No. Standard PET cups are rated for cold beverages only. PET begins to soften around 140–150°F and can deform with very hot liquids, which may cause spills or burns. For hot coffee, tea, or soup, see our paper cups (rated to 200°F) or PS rigid cups (rated to 175°F).

Yes — PET is recycling code #1, the most widely recycled plastic in the USA. It is accepted at virtually every curbside recycling program nationally. The exterior screen print does not interfere with the recycling process.

MOQ is 250 units per design. Volume pricing steps down at 500, 1,000, 2,500, and 5,000+ units. Each design counts as a separate order with its own 250-unit MOQ.

Yes. Our PET cup dimensions match industry-standard dome lids, flat lids, and straw lids. PET is the standard cup material for bubble tea and cold-drink operations using dome lids. We can supply matching lids on request.

Yes. PET has excellent chemical resistance to alcoholic beverages including beer, wine, cocktails, and mixed drinks. It is the preferred choice over PP for bar and brewery cup applications. For very high-proof spirits, both PET and PS perform well.

Both are crystal-clear cold-drink plastics. PET is more widely available, typically less expensive, and has better chemical resistance to acidic and alcoholic drinks. PLA is ASTM D6400 certified compostable, which matters for eco-committed brands. PET is recyclable #1 — choose PET when recycling infrastructure is the sustainable disposal option, PLA when commercial composting is available.

PET is crystal-clear (glass-like) while PP is translucent-to-opaque. PET is better when the drink color is a visual brand feature. PP is better when you want a solid opaque cup. PET has higher chemical resistance to acids and alcohol. PP is more flexible and slightly more crack-resistant under impact. Both are cold-drink-only materials.

No. PET cups are not microwave-safe and are not designed for hot beverages or reheating. For microwave applications, a different container type is required. Our cups are intended for cold beverage service only.

Screen printing on clear PET produces vivid, opaque color when a white underbase is used. Without underbase, colors appear translucent and change appearance depending on what's inside the cup — which can be a design feature for the right brand. Fine lines and text hold well on PET's smooth rigid surface.

Vector artwork (AI, EPS, PDF) is preferred and has no resolution limitation. Any raster/photo elements embedded in the file should be at least 300 DPI at final print size. Text below 6pt may not hold on the curved surface — we flag these during the free artwork review.
