The Complete Guide to Custom Bubble Tea Cups

April 15, 2026 · 5 min read

Bubble tea shops have some of the most specific cup requirements in food service — dome lid compatibility, sealing-film adhesion, and enough clarity to show off layered drinks and boba pearls. Here's what to know before ordering.

Material: PP is the standard

PP plastic is the default choice across the bubble tea industry. It's flexible enough not to crack under crushed ice, holds cold temperatures well, and takes screen ink cleanly for vivid logos and character branding.

Sizes that matter

Most bubble tea programs run on 16oz and 20oz cups as their core sizes, with 22-24oz for larger specialty drinks. Confirm your lid and sealing-film supplier's rim diameter before finalizing cup size — rim compatibility varies slightly by cup manufacturer.

Sealing machine compatibility

If you use a cup-sealing machine (common for delivery and to-go orders), verify the cup's rim width and wall taper are compatible with your sealing film size — this is one of the most common ordering mistakes for new bubble tea locations.

Printing options

  • 1-3 spot colors, wrap-around printing for full 360° branding
  • Full boba shop logos with mascot characters print well at 1-2 colors
  • Clear PET is an option if you want maximum visual clarity for layered drinks — see our PET cup line

Standard MOQ is 250 units per design, with volume pricing improving significantly at 1,000+. Get a bubble tea cup quote →
