Custom Printed Paper Cups for Coffee Shops — Brand on Every Cup

Starbucks built a global empire partly because their cups walk out the door as moving billboards. Independent coffee shops have the same opportunity — and a better story to tell.

The Starbucks Effect

Branded Cups = Brand Recognition at Scale

Starbucks doesn't put their logo on cups because they have a big marketing budget. They have a big marketing budget because they started putting their logo on cups.

Every customer who walks out your door with a branded cup is doing a street-level marketing impression that no paid ad can replicate. They chose your shop. They're carrying your cup. That endorsement is worth far more than a billboard.

For independent coffee shops, branded cups do something chains can't: they signal local identity. Your logo, your aesthetic, your name — on a cup that represents your community.

Local Identity

Compete With Chains on the One Thing They Can't Have

Starbucks can't put "Austin's favorite corner shop" on their cup. You can. Local identity is the single strongest differentiator independent coffee shops have — and branded cups carry that message to every neighborhood your customers walk through.

  • Your neighborhood, your art, your vibe — on every cup
  • Customers become brand advocates when they carry your cup with pride
  • Social-first design: cups made to look great in photos attract tagging behavior
  • First-time visitors see the brand integrity before they even taste the coffee

FAQ

Coffee Shop Cup Questions

We print on 8oz, 10oz, 12oz, and 16oz paper cups for hot beverages, plus 16oz, 20oz, and 24oz PP or PET cups for iced drinks and cold brew. Most coffee shops order two to three sizes with matching artwork.
Yes. Paper cups handle hot drinks up to 200°F. PP and PET cups are used for iced beverages and cold brew. We commonly print matching designs across both materials so your brand looks consistent whatever the drink.
A single-location coffee shop typically orders 2,000–5,000 cups per order (1–2 months of supply). This hits volume pricing while staying manageable for storage. We recommend building a 30–45 day buffer — reorders ship within 1–2 weeks once artwork is approved.
We do screen printing directly on the cup — not wraps or labels. Screen printing is more durable, more vibrant, and has no peeling risk. Standard coverage is up to 360° wrap for paper cups, with 1–3 color options (each additional color requires a separate machine pass).

Additional Coffee Shop Cup FAQs

Most independent coffee shops stock 3 sizes: 8oz or 10oz for espresso drinks, 12oz for standard lattes and cappuccinos, and 16oz for large hot drinks. For iced drinks, 16oz, 20oz, and 24oz PP or PET cups cover most menus. Order each size with the same artwork for brand consistency.
Each size is a separate SKU with its own 250-unit minimum (500 units if you have a custom color on that size). Volume pricing is per-size, not combined across sizes. Most shops order 2,000-3,000 units per size to hit the best pricing.
Yes. PLA-lined paper cups certified compostable under ASTM D6400 are available. FSC-certified paper is available on standard PE-lined cups. Both are available with full custom screen printing. Compostable cups are priced slightly higher — contact us for current rates.
The cups that get photographed most have: a strong color contrast between cup and logo, a memorable illustration or tagline, and a design that looks intentional even without the drink in it. Cups with personality — local landmarks, neighborhood art, a witty line — get kept and photographed. Screen printing holds these colors vividly.
